The Blitz category offered the chance to rearrange the rankings in the Biel Grandmaster Triathlon: A full 14 points in 14 games were ideally to be won. The closest to that with a yield of 10½ was Arjun Erigaisi, who can also urgently need the points. Thanks to this performance, he has reconnected with the midfield. He is followed by Lê Quang Liêm with 8½, as well as Yu Yangyi, current world number 12 among blitz players, and David Navara, the reigning European champion in this category, with 7½ points each. Navara has thus caught up with Keymer at the top of the standings with the same number of points – and thanks to the better result in the ACCENTUS Chess960 ranking, he again takes first place.
